A Bookstore Day with the Author
I would be thrilled to spend a day sharing my passion for storytelling with bookshops and churches. My "Day with the Author" experience includes a 30-minute session where I narrate a short story about one of the characters from my books. This interactive experience is followed by a 30-minute question-and-answer session in the bookshop's coffee shop, allowing attendees to engage directly with me.
Church Meetings and Seminars
After my first religious experience, I found a church community where I awakened spiritually. I began to listen to the Holy Spirit, and continue to listen to Him to this day. I am now a lay preacher, and offer talks in various settings, sharing insights on evangelism during church meetings and seminars.
I offer a free talk on everyday evangelism that focuses on practical advice for everyday encounters:
1. How to let people know you're a Christian
2. How to use ask-and-listen communication
3. How not to get stuck in theology or arguments
4. How to assess what stage people are at in their journey to know Jesus Christ
5. How to use everyday language not church language
6. How to avoid rushing or pushing
7. How to be gentle, loving and kind
I aim to inspire others to share their faith in a relatable and accessible way, encouraging a deeper connection with Jesus Christ.

This talking point allows me to discuss the challenges I faced in writing and how my determination to share faith-based stories pushed me to succeed as a first-time author.
School Visits and Workshops
‘Laurence's personal journey as a first-time author is inspiring. Working with his mild dyslexia, he sought help from editors to refine his writing to successfully publish his debut novel. His second book also accepted by Austin Macauley publishers continues to explore spiritual themes telling the stories of individuals from diverse backgrounds who undergo lifechanging spiritual experiences.
Laurence is able to inspire children with his own understanding of dyslexia and his life skills as a youth worker and foster carer make him the ideal person to come along and speak to a class full of children.'
A little about Laurence
My journey began in childhood, where my mother would craft spontaneous bedtime stories, igniting my imagination. As I grew, I too became a storyteller for my children, weaving tales that would come alive in my mind. Despite my struggles with dyslexia and a working-class background, I persevered to express my thoughts and stories through writing.
My daughter once remarked, “You're a dyslexic Cockney dad; it's very hard to understand what you write.” Her honesty only fuelled my desire to share these stories, and today, I stand before you, eager to connect with fellow believers and those seeking a deeper understanding of Christianity.
I offer a fresh perspective through my Christian novels, focusing on the beauty of personal experiences and the spirituality that enriches our lives. My writings, including my featured book The Death of Levi, aim to breathe new life into age-old stories, making them accessible and engaging for everyone.
