Heavenly Experiences
My Story
My First Heaven to Earth Experience
I was raised in a loving working-class family, with a mum, dad, and two elder brothers. Despite our close-knit family, we rarely attended church services, only participating in weddings or christenings, which were plentiful due to my seventeen uncles and aunties.
As a naturally inquisitive teenager, I asked my father, “Dad, what do you believe in?” He replied, “I am an Atheist, son, which means I don't believe that God is real or exists.” This conversation ignited my curiosity, leading me to explore various philosophies. I delved into the teachings of Buddha and Taoism, eventually immersing myself in martial arts, with Tai Chi capturing my fascination. I learnt that the breath of life enters one inch below the belly button, a concept that resonated with me.
Life progressed, and I married my beautiful wife, with whom I had two lovely daughters. In March 1992, we attended a business conference in Bournemouth, England. On that fateful Friday afternoon, I was embraced by a famous American speaker, Charlie Tremendous Jones. For the first time, I felt truly hugged. My dad isn't a hugger so this really impacted me.
As the weekend unfolded, I resisted attending the Sunday session, believing it would be more church-like than business-oriented. However, my wife insisted, “We paid for everything; we're going to everything.” We found our seats at the back of a three thousand-seater auditorium.
Phil Driscoll, a talented trumpet player and singer, took the stage. He candidly shared his tale of drug abuse and loss, culminating in the powerful message: “I am here for one reason only, to tell you that Buddha is dead, Muhammad is dead, Krishna is dead; the only one who is alive is Jesus Christ, and He is walking up and down the rows looking for people to follow Him.”
Offended by his words, I clutched my seat tightly. Yet, a warm energy surged from below my belly button, urging me to let go. In that moment, Phil shouted, “Let go of the chair in the name of Jesus.” I could no longer deny the feeling. In an act of surrender, I released my grip and felt an overwhelming warmth and love envelop me. I raised my hand to indicate my acceptance of Jesus Christ.
My spiritual journey started that day and I have never looked back since.
